What a weekend filled with fun and excitement! Moreton Island was the temporary home for Wampfler staff and special guests from Germany. Our hideaway was situated a few kilometres north from well known tourist spot Tangalooma, the quaint Cowan Cowan. These cute bungalows housed the necessities, a step up from traditional tent based camping with clean sleeping and living areas and even showers with hot running water.
The itinerary was based around a healthy combination of rest, relaxation, excitement and adventure. This involved fi rst hand testing of the slippery sand hills at The Desert with a little sand boarding versus sand skiing challenge.
Our company vehicles were capably equipped being 4WD automobiles ready to be tested by what the islands tracks had to off er. Unfortunately Moreton Island was the winner, bogging a few of the vehicles in its sand traps. This lead to many unexpected team bonding and building exercises with plenty of pushing, digging, walking and towing.
Overall the sandy and bumpy adventures during the day were happily off set by lounging time in the crystal clear waters of Blue Lagoon, swimming in the ocean and devouring the huge banquets prepared by the highly organized Wampfler team. Good times!
